
Cláudia Franco is a Jazz singer from Portugal. Her singing style is marked by the strong emotion that she transmits, whether in jazz classics or in her compositions. She has her homonymous project, duo with pianist Sérgio Rodrigues and is also part of Manuel Lourenço and Nicolau Santos - Poesia & Jazz project.
Cláudia started studing piano at the age of six and she sang all the time, but it only became more serious at age 17 when she started singing in a Rock covers band and 3 years later in a Jazz group.
In 2006 she recorded the dance themes “Go inside”, “Lose control” and “Insomnia” which brought her international recognition alongside his friend and DJ Alex Santos and the opportunity to sing in London and at Rock in Rio (Portugal).
In 2003 she decided to dedicate herself exclusively to music, studied at the Hot Clube de Portugal with Afonso Pais and Paula Oliveira, graduated in Jazz Voice Music at the "Lisbon Superior School of Music" in 2011 with Maria João and João Paulo Esteves da Silva, has a specialization in Relational Marketing, and also attended the voice lessons with Kiko at Master's degree in Teaching Jazz Vocal Music at "Superior School of Music and Performing Arts" in Porto.
In 2015 she attracted public attention with her version of “Night and day” on her debut album “Soul Dance”, produced by pianist Rui Caetano, which was presented at Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon and at Casa da Música in Porto.
In 2016, she starts online singing classes to teach aspiring singers from all over the world.
In 2017, he received the Afonso Lopes Vieira Trophy in the “Voice” category, a distinction awarded by the Jornal Região de Leiria.
In 2019, she sold out two concerts at the Leiria Music Festival with her new original repertoire “Praia Verde”.
She was also guest soloist of Orquestra das Beiras for the Christmas concerts in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
Cláudia is a passionate student of Vocal Pedagogy, Vocal Jazz improvisation and sushi. She's always reading a book, having online lessons with musicians that she admires, attending workshops or courses of vocal technique and vocal Jazz.
In 2022 she launched an online and international community and school for singers. She loves teaching vocal technique for different styles, and she released the workshops "Start singing Jazz" and a 12 week program.
This same year she was invited by ESMAE, reputed university of music, to teach a Vocal Jazz workshop.
In 2023 she lauched an online Jam session for Jazz singers "Flow Jazz Session" and is preparing her new music project.
